Meet the Candidates!

Isaiah COLLINS

Isaiah COLLINS

Candidate for Penticton City Council

Hello, my name is Isaiah Collins. I’m an Irish-Canadian born in the Lower Mainland of BC. My family moved here almost ten years ago for work and to get away from the rising cost of living in Vancouver. My mother is a music teacher and author, while my father serves as a chaplain in assisted living. They inspired my work and my commitment to public service. I’m the proud oldest of three siblings and one of many grandchildren in a close-knit family.

I graduated from Penticton Secondary School in 2020, where I was involved in track and field, leadership, and volunteering with faith-based organizations. One of my first advocacy projects was supporting a compost system at Pen-High. After earning a track scholarship, I attended Western University, earning honours bachelor’s degrees in Psychology (2025) and Human Resources Management (2024), along with my CHRP and CAPM.

Seeing students experience isolation during the pandemic inspired my campus advocacy. I worked with student government and my business club to create events that brought people together and strengthened campus life. I also earned a Cross-Cultural Communication Certificate and international honours.Inspired by my own experiences, my academic research focused on making workplaces more inclusive and accessible. In 2025, I received a Fulbright Killam Fellowship and a Mitacs research internship, continuing my research while exploring the United States.

Having experienced and witnessed isolation, I’m motivated to advocate for stronger communities. Since returning, I’ve fallen in love with Penticton. I’m proud to call this community home and excited to continue working toward a more inclusive, connected, and hopeful future.

Isaac GILBERT

Isaac GILBERT

Incumbent City of Penticton Councillor

Isaac Gilbert was elected to City Council in 2022. He was born and raised in the automotive capital of Canada, Windsor, Ontario. His dad David is an autoworker at Chrysler and his mother Mary is a hairdresser. After being certified as an arborist, Isaac moved to B.C. in 2010 and worked in the Lower Mainland. In 2014, he changed paths and became a BC Parks Ranger in E.C. Manning Provincial Park, which led him to Penticton. In 2016 he transferred to the South Okanagan Park area and has called Penticton home since. Since arriving in Penticton, Isaac has immersed himself in the community. He has acted in Many Hats Plays, started a theatre cooperative, and volunteers with many organizations. For four years, Isaac was the chair of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee for the City of Penticton. As a compliance and enforcement officer, Isaac understands the complexity of public safety. He blends that boots on the ground knowledge with his interests in urban planning, policy writing, and human ecology. He believes municipalities play an important role in a healthy, safe, and trusting community. He is willing to tackle the many challenges facing the city from homelessness, affordability, and adopting to climate change.

Lainie GREYEYES

Lainie GREYEYES

Candidate for Penticton City Council

wayʼ iskʷist pl̓pal̓wícyaʔ (Butterfly). kn t̓l snpintktn.

My English name is Lainie Greyeyes. I am the daughter of the late Cecil Greyeyes and Grandma Grace Greyeyes. My grandparents are Dolly and Joseph Jack of the snpintktn Indian Band, and Caroline and Joseph Greyeyes of Saskatchewan. I am also the proud mother of an incredible 28-year-old son.

I have lived in Penticton for over 55 years, and I love this city. I grew up in neighbourhoods across Penticton—from Creighton Crescent and Fairview to Duncan, Wayburn, Government, and Sydney Streets—and I have also been proud to call the snpintktn Indian Band my  home community. Both of my parents were involved in local sports team’s with hockey and baseball. Grandma Grace worked in the Penticton hospital and my dad helped building apartments right here in Penticton. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the people, cultures, and perspectives that make our city Penticton, unique.

I am proud of my Syilx  heritage. Like my mother, I consider myself a bridge builder—someone who listens, creates connections, and brings people together with respect and understanding.  To me, Penticton stands for community, family, and belonging. I believe every voice matters, and I am committed to ensuring all people feel heard, respected, and included. These values continue to guide my commitment to serving our community with compassion, collaboration, and integrity.
