Penticton Together Electors Association

Penticton Together is a progressive, independent movement of residents who believe this community should be shaped by the people who live in it. Not just every four years, but all the time. 

We are not affiliated with any political party or provincial/federal organization. We came together around the things that actually shape daily life here: whether people can afford to stay in the community they grew up in or moved to, whether our streets work for people and not just cars, whether the climate crisis is treated with the urgency it deserves, whether every neighbour, including those going through a hard time, is met with care instead of judgment, whether our local economy works for the people who live here, and whether decisions get made in public, by people who answer to the public. 

We're organizing now, heading into October's municipal election. That's a milestone, not the finish line. We're staying organized after election day too. 

Our Story

Penticton Together started with a conversation, not a plan. 

In late 2025, a proposal to bring supportive housing to Penticton became one of the most talked-about issues in town — and it didn't move forward. For a group of residents who'd been watching that debate, it crystallized something we'd already been feeling: how easily local politics can slide into managing people instead of caring for them. 

That moment is part of our story, but it isn't the whole of it. It pointed to something bigger — decisions being made without residents at the table, on issues that reach well beyond any single project — and it left us with a shared belief: that everyone deserves dignity, and that Penticton can be a place where people are cared for, not just counted. That belief became this movement. 

We're hopeful, because we don't think we're alone in believing that. There's more that unites this community than divides it — and that's where our strength comes from. 

What We Stand For

We didn't start with a fixed platform. We started by listening. Listening to what residents are actually worried about, hopeful for, and frustrated by, on doorsteps and in conversations across this city.

Here's what we heard, and what we'll do about it:

• Community Prosperity: Everyone who works here should be able to afford to live here. A local economy that works for the people who live here, not just the people who already have the most, starting with housing people who work here can actually afford.

• Community Resilience — Ready before it happens, not just ready to respond. In August we watched all of Summerland evacuate here. Preparing for fire, heat, and drought is work you do in the years in between. This time it wasn't us. Luck isn't a plan.

• Community Accountability: Decisions made in public, with the people who live here. The city runs plenty of consultation. Being consulted and being involved aren't the same thing, and residents can tell the difference.

• Community Care: No one gets left behind because they're having a hard time. That includes real, ongoing work on decolonization and anti-racism, and building a community that repairs harm and welcomes everyone in.

We are / we are not

• We are an independent electors' organization, registered with Elections BC and a registered non-profit society.

• We are not affiliated with any provincial or federal political party.

• We are a movement built by our members — our priorities, our candidates, and our direction come from the people who join us.

• We are not a one-time campaign. We're organizing before, during, and after October's election
